The University Clinic and Polyclinic for Internal Medicine I, the German Crohn's Disease / Ulcerative Colitis Association (DCCV e.V.), and a self-help organisation for approximately 600,000 affected people in Germany are organising the 11th Doctor-Patient Seminar. This informative event is free of charge and open to all, with no registration required.

Scheduled for September 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the University Hospital Halle (Saale), the seminar aims to provide valuable insights into chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, specifically Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Both diseases are characterised by recurring symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue. They can significantly impair the quality of life of those affected and have a relapsing course. The seminar will delve into the role of biological gender and gender aspects in the disease, diagnostics, and therapy.

Doctors from the University Medicine Halle and invited physicians from across Germany will share their expertise, discussing new medications and studies, as well as proven and new nutrition concepts, modern imaging using ultrasound and endoscopy, and the possibilities of robot-assisted surgery.

Besides the doctors from the University Hospital Halle, experts from various German regions will participate in the seminar, bringing a wealth of knowledge and perspectives to the table. A highlight of the event will be a lecture on the connection between headaches and chronic inflammatory bowel diseases.

In severe cases of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, surgery may be necessary. The seminar will also focus on complex cases and improving the quality of care for patients with these conditions.

The 11th Doctor-Patient Seminar is an excellent opportunity for those affected by these diseases, their families, and healthcare professionals to gain a deeper understanding of these conditions and the latest treatments and research. Mark your calendars for September 6, 2025, and join us at the University Hospital Halle (Saale) for a day of informative and engaging discussions.
