2025 World Poker Series Commences in Las Vegas, Offering 100 Championship Tournaments
The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) officially commenced on May 27 at the Horseshoe and Paris casinos in Las Vegas. The eagerly anticipated $10,000 Main Event will initiate on July 2. Buy-in prices for the various events cater to diverse players, ranging from $300 to an impressive $250,000.
Located on the Las Vegas Strip, the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas casinos are hosting this event jointly for the fourth consecutive year. Despite the WSOP brand's acquisition by GGPoker (NSUS Group) in August 2024, Caesars Entertainment remains involved as the host, under a 20-year hosting agreement.
This year's WSOP series includes a record-breaking 100 live bracelet events, marking the largest such series in WSOP history thus far. The Main Event will kick off on July 2, with the final table concluding later in July. The series will begin with the Mystery Millions event, offering a guaranteed $1 million top bounty and a minimum $1 million first-place prize.
Registration for live events requires the WSOP+ app. Interestingly, the companion WSOP Online series will run concurrently, featuring 30 online bracelet events, from May 31 to July 15.
