"2026 Musical Tour of 'Romeo and Juliet'"

The musical adaptation of William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy, "Romeo & Julia - Love is Everything," is set to captivate audiences across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland starting August 2026. This innovative production, a collaboration between Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer of the popular German pop duo Rosenstolz, has already been mesmerising spectators in Berlin at the Theater des Westens since its premiere in March 2023.

The musical is a unique blend of pop songs and arias, featuring some of Rosenstolz's most beloved hits such as "Love is Everything" and "Wie weit ist vorbei." Peter Plate hopes that the audience will remember Anna R., a beloved member of Rosenstolz, when they hear these songs during the upcoming tour.

In this reimagined version of the classic love story, Julia is portrayed as wilder, and Mercutio, a friend of Romeo, is revealed to be in love with him. The production promises to tell the best-known love story in the world in a way that has "never been told before."

The tour plans for the musical were announced at an event in Cologne, with the production set to visit several German cities including Cologne, Düsseldorf, Munich, Duisburg, Baden-Baden, Bremen, and Frankfurt. The musical will also be seen in Vienna, Austria, and Zürich, Switzerland.
