Video allegedly from the October 2022 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in Raichur is incorrectly presented as the inaugural day of the 2025 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar.

A 2022 video from Raichur, showcased during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, is erroneously circulated as the beginning of the 2025 Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar.

In October 2022, the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' led by Rahul Gandhi entered Raichur, Karnataka, as part of the event's journey from Chamarajanagar to Raichur. This factual detail, however, has been mixed up in a viral video that falsely claims to show the first day of the 2025 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar.

The viral video, shared by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on his official Instagram account on 22 October 2022, shows Rahul Gandhi walking with a man in a green T-shirt and a cloth tied around his head. This man is confirmed to be DK Shivakumar himself, as seen in a Facebook post dated 22 October 2022, where Rahul Gandhi shared pictures from the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in Raichur.

The location of the viral video is identified as Satyanath Colony Road in Raichur, Karnataka. This was deduced by comparing the buildings in the viral video with Street View images on Google Maps, which showed a match. Furthermore, a signboard for 'Rock Cafe Restaurant' is visible in one of the pictures shared by Rahul Gandhi on Facebook, which further supports the identification of the video as being from Raichur, Karnataka, and not Bihar as claimed in the viral video.

It's important to clarify that the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' is a 16-day march covering over 1,300 km across more than 20 districts of Bihar, launched against the backdrop of the Congress's accusations of "vote chori" against the Election Commission and the INDIA Bloc's opposition to the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' was launched by Rahul Gandhi on 17 August 2025 in Sasaram, Bihar, and will conclude with a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on 1 September 2025.

In conclusion, the viral video showing Rahul Gandhi and DK Shivakumar during the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' in Raichur, Karnataka, in October 2022, is mistakenly presented as the first day of the 2025 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar. It's essential to verify information before sharing it to avoid the spread of misinformation.
