A two-hour uninterrupted stop on the A27 highway
On September 1, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on the A27 in the direction of Hanover, near the Vahr exit in Bremen. The incident, which took place around 10:50 AM, involved two vehicles: a Volkswagen and a Mercedes.
The 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen had to apply emergency brakes, but the 27-year-old driver of the Mercedes failed to notice the traffic jam and collided with the Volkswagen. As a result, two individuals were injured and both cars had to be towed away.
The accident caused a traffic backup on the A27, resulting in further traffic delays. The highway was closed in the direction of Hannover for over three hours while the Traffic Criminal Investigation Department (Verkehrskommissariat) of the Bremen Police, supported by the fire department and the highway maintenance authority, conducted the accident investigation, cleanup, and recovery operations.
Significant traffic disruptions were caused by the closure of the highway. The accident investigation, cleanup, and recovery operations were completed on the highway, and the A27 reopened after more than three hours of closure.
Despite the accident, it's important to remember the importance of maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front and paying attention to the road conditions. We hope for a swift recovery for those injured in the accident.
