Koehler's apartment, too, features a flamboyant flamingo theme, reflecting his affection for the cheerful and warm colour that reminds him of vacations and flamingos.

Initially, Koehler and his wife had different colour plans for their apartment. However, as furniture shopping progressed, pink began to creep in subtly, eventually leading to a full-blown flamingo-themed apartment. This decision, while unconventional, has paid off, as the "Flamingo House" has become a talking point among friends and acquaintances.

Initially, there were comments like, "Is this for real?" but now, the house is appreciated by many in Metzingen. A guest at the green hotel opposite finds the house funny to look at while having breakfast, adding to the house's charm.
