The Polestar 3, the latest electric vehicle from the Swedish automaker, has partnered with Abbey Road Studios to create a unique in-car audio experience. The collaboration, as showcased in the Polestar portraits featuring professional cyclist Demi Vollering and American basketball player Kevin Love, highlights the distinctive approaches of these iconic figures, balancing performance, well-being, and creativity.

Abbey Road Studios, renowned for its 45-year association with Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers, has now brought its legendary sound quality to the Polestar 3. The Abbey Road Studios Mode, exclusively available on Bowers & Wilkins speakers in the Polestar 3, transforms the vehicle's cabin into a mobile sound studio, utilising 25 strategically placed speakers.

The collaboration has seen the reworking of two of Liam Shortall's hit songs. The first, "Energised", was matched with the Slope preset due to its uptempo, festival-ready nature. The second, "Latency", was paired with the Open preset to allow for more space and dynamic range. Liam Shortall, a jazz musician, multi-instrumentalist, and Mercury Prize nominee, found the experience of recording his music in Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios inspiring, citing the rich history, the people who work there, and the instruments available.

Liam's session in Studio Two offered a glimpse into the unpredictable world of jazz production, with Liam in control of many moving parts. Mirek, a fellow musician, agrees that the creation of a car mode for mixing music in the Polestar 3 is authentic, as many mixes are still checked in cars outside Abbey Road Studios.

The Polestar portraits with Demi Vollering and Kevin Love also emphasise their style-conscious advocacy, showcasing their commitment to speed, performance, design, and purpose. Meanwhile, on September 13, 2025, the Aboriginal artist Loki Liddle from the band SELVE made history as the first full-length album by an Aboriginal artist was recorded at Abbey Road Studios, in Studio Two no less.

This collaboration between Polestar, Abbey Road Studios, and Bowers & Wilkins marks a new chapter in the story of Abbey Road Studios, with the recording of a jazz session, a departure from its usual genres. Moreover, it redefines the way we perceive vehicles, turning the Polestar 3 into a mobile music studio, a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration.
