Abbey Road Studios Collaborates with Jon Hopkins: "Their Achievement is Remarkable"
In a unique collaboration, renowned music producer Jon Hopkins and rising jazz star Corto.alto have teamed up with Polestar, Abbey Road Studios, and Bowers & Wilkins to elevate the in-car listening experience.
Jon Hopkins, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, found the task of creating music for specific presets inspiring and unique. He crafted the Intimate preset track, a quiet and private piece that evokes a feeling similar to being in one of Abbey Road's control rooms. The Expansive preset track, on the other hand, captures the sound of Studio Two, a creative space at the heart of Britain's music scene since 1931.
Studio Two, one of the most famous rooms in music, was also the location for Corto.alto's recording. The jazz star was invited to create new tracks for Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3, with the challenge of reimagining two of his most impactful tracks to showcase the unique sonic characteristics of the new mode.
Abbey Road Studios Mode aims to revolutionise the in-car listening experience through four unique presets: Intimate, Expansive, Open, and Energised. The mode was co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Bowers & Wilkins, and is available exclusively with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system in Polestar 3.
The Polestar 3, a vehicle that embodies a commitment to speed and performance, hosts this innovative audio experience. Mirek Stiles, head of audio products at Abbey Road Studios, played a major role in producing the Abbey Road sound experience for the car.
Meanwhile, Kevin Love, an iconic athlete and style-conscious advocate, is associated with Polestar, although the exact nature of the association is not specified. He embodies a balance of performance, well-being, and creativity, values that resonate with the ethos of the collaboration.
The producer mode in Abbey Road Studios Mode allows users granular customisation of their audio experience, offering a personalised listening journey. This groundbreaking collaboration is set to redefine the in-car listening experience, merging the worlds of music, technology, and automotive design.
