Accessibility in transportation for senior citizens
The city of Marburg is expanding its recreational activities with the introduction of a new senior movement offer in the city forest. This exciting new addition, set to commence on August 27th, is not an advertisement but a part of the city's comprehensive concept for movement and health promotion.
The senior movement offer, organised by the city of Marburg, will take place every fourth Wednesday of the month, from 4:30 PM to 6 PM, in the Stadtwald-Ausgründung. This offer is designed for those who want gentle, low-pressure exercises for health.
Participation in this senior offer, as well as the city's other open movement offers, is absolutely free. The senior movement offer is connected to the senior café located at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße 16, within the Stadtwald neighborhood center.
The senior movement offer is not a repetition of any other existing movement offer in the city. The programme includes exercises for mobilization, strengthening, and balance, tailored to individual abilities and knowledge. It's an addition to the existing open movement offers, specifically catering to the senior demographic.
This new senior movement offer is one of the offers started under the "KOMBINE" project, aiming to promote health and well-being among the city's senior residents. The city of Marburg does not charge for participation in the senior movement offer in the city forest, emphasising its commitment to making these activities accessible to all.
So, if you're a senior looking for a fun and healthy way to spend your afternoons, mark your calendars for August 27th and join us in the city forest for the new senior movement offer. Let's move together for a healthier Marburg!
