Accident in Kitchener results in impaired driving charges, causing injuries to two individuals

A collision between a Mazda and a Toyota, which occurred on Doon Village Road, north of Pioneer Drive, has resulted in charges being laid against the driver of the Mazda.

The incident took place around 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday, with the Waterloo Regional Police handling the crash. According to the authorities, the driver of the Mazda was charged with impaired operation, as well as dangerous operation, after crossing the center line and colliding with the Toyota.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital following the crash, but the injuries sustained by both individuals remain unspecified. The 35-year-old man from Kitchener, who was driving the Mazda, was arrested at the scene.

In addition to the charges related to impaired driving, the driver was also charged with impaired operation with a blood alcohol level over 80. The driver of the Toyota, a 62-year-old man from Kitchener, has not been publicly identified.

The Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate the crash, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available. This serves as a reminder to always drive responsibly and never operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
