A tragic incident occurred on a country road between Lützelbach and Breuberg in the Odenwald district over the weekend. According to reports from the police, a traffic accident involving more than two vehicles took place on Saturday afternoon.
The accident resulted in three people being seriously injured. The drivers of both vehicles, a 19-year-old and a 60-year-old, as well as a 53-year-old passenger, were trapped in their respective vehicles. First responders managed to free the 53-year-old passenger from their car.
The exact cause of the accident remains initially unclear. However, it is known that two vehicles collided head-on on the country road. The location of the accident was in Breuberg.
The police department that investigated the traffic accident in the Odenwald region is the Kriminalpolizei in Erbach, specifically Commissariat 10, working together with the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office for related serious incidents.
The accident caused significant disruption, with the country road remaining closed for several hours for recovery operations. The injured parties were airlifted to nearby hospitals.
