Accident in open countryside involving a saddle train causes substantial monetary losses

On the night of August 29, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on the B207 highway near Breitenfelde, in the Kreis Herzogtum Lauenburg. The incident involved a truck and occurred as the highway headed towards the A24 from Mölln.

According to the information available, the truck, driven by a 47-year-old man from Kreis Stormarn, Romania, allegedly lost control in a left curve and veered off the road to the right. The accident occurred around 2:20 AM, resulting in damage to a bridge railing, a street lamp, three parked cars (total loss), a garden, and a multi-family home facade.

Fortunately, the driver of the truck was slightly injured in the accident. The total property damage from the accident is estimated to be in the low six-figures.

Initial investigations at the scene suggest that the driver may have neglected his duty of care and did not adequately check the vehicle's technical condition before starting the journey. As a result, proceedings for an administrative offense have been initiated against the driver.
