Accident on a highway close to Langenzenn results in three individuals being harmed

A multi-vehicle accident occurred on the B8 near Langenzenn on August 12, 2025, causing significant disruptions and injuries. The accident involved a truck colliding with two stationary small trucks, resulting in material damage estimated at several tens of thousands of euros.
According to reports, a small truck had previously broken down on the right side of the two-lane road. The driver of another truck from the same company stopped behind the broken-down truck to provide assistance. However, a third truck, driven by a 30-year-old driver, failed to stop in time and collided with the two stationary vehicles.
The 30-year-old truck driver was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to a hospital by a rescue helicopter. Both the 61-year-old truck driver and the driver of the broken-down truck (27 years old) also sustained injuries and were taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
Firefighters from nearby stations assisted with traffic diversion, and the affected section of the B8 was closed for the duration of the accident investigation and subsequent towing of the accident vehicles. The site was reopened around 13:30.
The police from FΓΌrth's traffic department is investigating the accident, and an accident reconstruction expert was called in at the request of the public prosecutor's office. Several road users reported the accident to the Middle Franconia police control center around 08:15.
