ActionPlan for the day's event 'Tour dementia': Outlining the steps for connecting relatives and victims, offering a summary of the day's activities.

Get ready for an enlightening and engaging event in Bergisch Gladbach, as the city prepares to host an action day focused on the topic of dementia. The event, scheduled for September 17, 2025, promises a varied program from morning to evening, filled with informative lectures, interactive activities, and a media exhibition.

The action day is held in conjunction with the upcoming World Alzheimer's Day, aiming to raise awareness and provide support for those affected by dementia. The city center market square will transform into a hub of activities and information booths from 2:30 PM, welcoming visitors to explore and learn more about the subject.

One of the highlights of the day is the event "With all senses in the rhythm of memory" at Villa Zanders, which requires registration by September 15, 2025. Katharina Simbrunner, a dance educator, will lead a movement promotion for people with and without dementia, involving familiar music and movement impulses. The event will be wheelchair-friendly and supported by volunteers.

The bike group of the Regional Office for Aging, Care, and Dementia Bergisches Land will make a stop in Bergisch Gladbach as part of their annual bike tour, the "Tour Demenz". The group is expected to arrive at the market square around 3:25 PM, where they will be warmly welcomed by the First Deputy Mayor Anna Maria Scheerer and other representatives. ADFC Rhein-Berg will provide e-tandems for visitors to try out.

Several lectures are scheduled throughout the day. Senior Physician Meike Jacobsen from the EVK Bergisch Gladbach will give a lecture titled "Dement - what now?" at the DRK Refrather Treff. Claudia Freudenberger from the guardianship office of the city of Bergisch Gladbach will discuss "Legal representation options in dementia - legal guardianship is good, power of attorney is better" at the same venue.

Nicole Sutschet, Police Sergeant and Traffic Safety Advisor of the Accident Prevention, will give a lecture on "Driving with dementia - support for relatives and interested parties" at the Volkshochschule Bergisch Gladbach. Care counseling Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis will offer consultations, information, and materials, while the guardianship office will offer consultations on powers of attorney and precautions. The contact office for self-help care will have an information booth for caring relatives.
