In an exclusive interview with Brandon Davis, actor Sol Rodriguez shared her audition journey for a coveted role in James Gunn's project, Superman. Rodriguez auditioned for the role of The Engineer, a character that eventually went to her friend, María Gabriela de Faría.

Rodriguez revealed that she and de Faría worked together 14 years ago on the Nickelodeon Latin America show Grachi. Both actresses were hopeful that one of them would secure the role, but Rodriguez was not initially selected for The Engineer in Superman.

Despite the initial disappointment, Rodriguez sent a tape for the Sasha Bordeaux audition in Peacemaker. Her determination paid off, as she was later offered the role of ARGUS agent Sasha Bordeaux in the second season of the DCU series Peacemaker.

Rodriguez expressed bittersweet feelings about not getting the role of The Engineer. She was happy that her friend got the part, but she also admitted to experiencing a phase of disappointment and crying a lot after not getting the role. However, Rodriguez let go of her dream of playing The Engineer and moved on, focusing on the new opportunity in Peacemaker.
