Actors Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy experienced filming an action-adventure movie titled 'Sacrifice' right at an active volcano.
In an exciting turn of events, Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy have joined forces for the upcoming film "Sacrifice." The independent production, directed by Romain Gavras, promises a unique blend of drama and comedy, set against the backdrop of a volcano in Santorini, Greece.
Before embarking on this cinematic journey, Evans and Taylor-Joy were not familiar faces to each other. However, a chance encounter at a party where they played a game of running charades might have been a precursor to their collaboration. As the story goes, they found themselves bumping into each other at various Hollywood events around the same time they were approached with the "Sacrifice" script.
The plot revolves around Evans, who plays a movie star grappling with an existential crisis, and Taylor-Joy, who takes on the role of a cult leader. John Malkovich and Salma Hayek Pinault are part of the ensemble cast, with Malkovich playing Taylor-Joy's father and Hayek Pinault's role yet to be disclosed.
Jonatan "Yung Lean" Leandoer joins the cast as Taylor-Joy's brother, and Sam Richardson portrays Evans' agent. The film also features a special performance by Charli XCX and Ambika Mod, who sing a climate change anthem.
"Sacrifice" is an allegory about the death of ego, according to Evans. The volcano in the film symbolises transformation, surrender, peace, and freedom. The movie stars are reported to have filmed at the actual volcanic site, adding an authentic touch to the film.
The film "Sacrifice" is a joint production from Iconoclast, Mid March Media, Film 4, and Heretic. It will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 6. With its intriguing plot and star-studded cast, "Sacrifice" is undoubtedly one to watch.
