In the heart of Munich, the Devil's Wheel at Oktoberfest has become a popular attraction, but unfortunately, in the past year, it has also been the site of a disturbing issue - upskirting. To address this problem, Polaczy, the operator of the attraction, has taken several measures to ensure the safety and comfort of its visitors.

Recognising the gravity of the situation, Polaczy has equipped the Devil's Wheel with cameras to prevent unauthorised filming. This decision was made in close coordination with the city of Munich, with the aim of creating a secure environment for all visitors.

In addition to the installation of cameras, signs with applicable regulations are clearly visible at the cash register of the attraction. These signs aim to inform visitors of the rules and consequences of engaging in such behaviour.

The entire staff of the attraction has received special training to quickly recognise secret filming. This training equips them with the necessary skills to handle such situations effectively and ensure the immediate removal of offenders from the premises.

Several men have already been removed from the Devil's Wheel after being caught filming illegally. However, it's important to note that no specific organisation or person responsible for securing the traditional Ferris wheel with video surveillance and trained personnel to prevent secret filming under skirts was identified in the available search results.

Upskirting, or secret filming or photography under skirts or into cleavage, has been a criminal offence in Germany since 2021. Offenders face fines or imprisonment of up to two years.

Polaczy has also offered women free cycling shorts that can be worn under the dirndl as a preventive measure. This initiative aims to provide an additional layer of protection and peace of mind for visitors.

While it's unfortunate that such measures are necessary, it's reassuring to see that steps are being taken to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors at the Devil's Wheel. The operator's commitment to creating a secure environment is commendable and sets a positive example for other attractions to follow.
