In a surprising turn of events, the Malayalam film industry's breakout star, Priya Prakash Varrier, has made a cameo appearance in the Bollywood rom-com Param Sundari. Known for her role in the 2019 Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love, Varrier's appearance in Param Sundari marks a departure from her leading roles in Malayalam cinema.

Param Sundari, directed by Shashank Khaitan, stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The film, which released recently, has earned ₹34.25 crore in its first five days.

Fans of Varrier were taken aback to see her in a non-speaking background role in Param Sundari. Dressed in a red and white saree, Varrier can be seen walking behind Malhotra's character in one scene. Some comments suggest that this role could be a stepping stone rather than a setback for the actress, who gained popularity due to her viral wink video from Oru Adaar Love.

However, not everyone is pleased with Varrier's appearance in Param Sundari. Some critics have raised concerns about Malayali representation, while others have expressed dissent about the casting of Janhvi Kapoor in a role that some believe could have been more suited for a Malayali actor. A particular scene where Kapoor climbs a coconut tree has also been criticized for reinforcing South Indian stereotypes.

Interestingly, Kriti Sanon played the role of the lead actress in Param Sundari, despite Priya Prakash Varrier being well known. Adnan Sami, who sang the song "Bheegi Saree" from Param Sundari, shared his insights about the song's creation.

Meanwhile, Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra has outperformed Param Sundari at the box office, leaving fans and critics alike eagerly awaiting Varrier's next move in the world of cinema. One fan wrote, "She would have been better for taking up Jhanvi Kapoors role. I just can't stand Bollywood!" Another commented, "I wonder how no one noticed this."

As Varrier continues to make waves in the industry, it will be exciting to see where her career takes her next.
