Addition of versatile defender Savona to forest squad roster

Nottingham Forest have made a significant addition to their squad this transfer window, with the signing of Italian defender Nicolo Savona from Juventus on a five-year deal. The move marks Savona's first foray into European football, as Nottingham Forest embark on their first European campaign in 30 years, competing in the Europa League this season.

Savona, who started his career at Juventus Turin, expressed excitement about joining the historic English club. For the 25-year-old, the transfer is a dream come true and a new experience, both as a person and a player.

The versatile defender, who can play in both central and full-back positions, made his senior debut for Juventus in August 2024 and went on to make 40 appearances across Serie A, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup. During this time, he helped Juventus keep five clean sheets.

Savona's move to Nottingham Forest makes him the second player to join the club from Juventus in recent weeks, following the loan signing of Douglas Luiz for the 2025-26 season. Nottingham Forest have also bolstered their squad with the arrivals of Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee, Arnaud Kalimuendo, and Dan Ndoye.

Despite earning his first call-up to the Italian national team in November 2024, Savona is yet to make his debut for the Azzurri. However, he considers Nottingham Forest a historic club and is eager to contribute to their European campaign.

With the addition of Savona, Nottingham Forest have brought in nine new players during this transfer window, as they aim to challenge for honours in the upcoming season. The transfer fee for Savona is reported to be up to £13.4m (€15.5m), making him one of the club's most expensive signings in recent years.

As Savona settles into his new surroundings, he will undoubtedly bring his wealth of experience and passion for the game to Nottingham Forest, as they look to make a strong impression in the Europa League and compete for domestic honours.
