Adolescent male detained in London for having a fake gun
In a recent development, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in west London for possessing an imitation firearm. The incident took place yesterday evening, near Fulham Broadway.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the boy was stopped due to reports of a person carrying a weapon walking towards a crowded area. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the object the boy was holding was a "realistic-looking imitation firearm."
No one was injured during the incident, and the police involved were unarmed. The Met Police has begun an investigation into the circumstances of the boy's arrest, with one line of inquiry suggesting that the boy may have been on his way to a comic convention.
The Met Police has urged the public to avoid sharing misinformation and images of anyone who has been arrested. They issued a statement on X, emphasising the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed without undue influence from unverified reports.
The arrest comes as a reminder of the seriousness with which the police treat any reports of weapons in public areas, especially near crowded events like Comic-Con Germany. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
