The TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 is proving to be an exciting tournament, with three co-hosts - Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda - providing a thrilling spectacle for football fans.

In Group B, Tanzania topped the table, winning three of their four matches. Their only draw came against the Central African Republic in a game that was a dead rubber for both teams. Tanzania's impressive form sets them up for a stern test against seasoned CHAN contenders Morocco in the quarter-finals.

In Group A, Benni McCarthy led Kenya to the summit, finishing ahead of the 2020 champions, Morocco. Ryan Ogam's 75th-minute goal against Zambia secured a 1-0 victory and 10 points for Kenya, ensuring their advancement to the quarter-finals. Kenya will now face Madagascar, who eliminated South Africa in a dramatic penalty shootout, in the next round.

Uganda, in Group C, have made history by qualifying for the quarter-finals for the first time in their six previous appearances. The draw against South Africa, which ended in a 3-3 thriller in Kampala, lifted Uganda to the group's summit. Jude Ssemugabi and a last-gasp Rogers Torach penalty helped Uganda secure a point against the South Africans. Uganda's quarter-final match will be held at home, providing an opportunity for the Cranes to rally their fans. However, their new-found resilience will be tested against the runners-up of Group D.

The CHAN 2024 has been a rollercoaster ride for all teams, with every match providing nail-biting moments. As we move into the quarter-finals, the competition promises to get even tougher. The stage is set for some epic encounters, with Uganda and Kenya leading the charge as Group winners.
