Agricultural producers in Amgin receive their long-awaited funds, yet still face financial losses.
In the cold, remote regions of Tatatinisky, Gorny uluses, and Amga, farmers have been facing a challenging start to the year due to a delay in payments for their milk produce.
According to reports, the delay was attributed to coordination issues and the third reading on the issue being at the beginning of the year. The head of il Tumen, responsible for the delay in payments to farmers in the Republic of Yakutia, is Valery Kozlov.
Igor Petrov, a farmer from Pokrovka village in the Amginsky district, has been one of those affected. He estimates that he has lost around 300,000 rubles on milk by the end of the year due to the delay in payments. Petrov used the funds he received to prepare for winter, but the delay in payments affected his ability to properly overwinter his cattle and horses.
The delay in payments has caused financial hardship for agricultural producers. Petrov believes that funds could have been transferred after the first and second readings, which were held at the end of last year.
Changes were made to the normative legal acts regulating the provision of state support for 48 types of direct subsidies and grants on February 28. The law went through the editing and translation stages into the Yakut language, after which it was sent to the government and the head of Yakutia for approval on March 13. However, the funds were only received in the second quarter, causing a significant delay.
Despite the challenges, there have been positive developments. The budget for agriculture in Yakutia's 2024 budget has been increased to 14 billion 933 million rubles. The milk production subsidy rate has been increased from 60 to 65 rubles per kg of product as of January 1, 2024. Additionally, the subsidy for keeping a cow in personal subsidiary farms has been increased from 37 to 39 thousand rubles per year, and in Arctic regions, it has been increased to 45 thousand rubles per year.
Petrov, who previously mentioned, received 65 rubles in subsidies per liter of milk and 15 rubles for the butter from the single supplier. The State Assembly Il Tumen was involved in the increase of the budget for agriculture.
The good news is that payments for delivered milk in Amginsky farmers' accounts have been made on April 5, after a long delay. As the farmers in Yakutia continue to face challenges, there is hope that the increased budget and subsidies will help them overcome these difficulties and ensure a prosperous future for their farms.
