AI company Anthropic's valuation now stands at a staggering 183 billion dollars, making it the third most valuable corporation in Germany.

AI firm Anthropic has reached a valuation of $183 billion, ranking it as Germany's third largest enterprise.

Anthropic, the U.S. AI startup known for its chatbot Claude, has made headlines with its recent European expansion. The company, founded by former OpenAI employees with critical views on their former employer's development strategy, has raised an impressive $13 billion in a new funding round, increasing its valuation to a staggering $183 billion.

According to Guillaume Princen, Anthropic's European chief, Anthropic's approach to building AI has a fundamentally European aspect to it. The company emphasizes its focus on AI safety and ethical development, setting it apart from other AI developers.

In June 2025, Anthropic announced its plans to significantly expand in Europe, a move that includes filling over 100 new positions. The news was reported by sifted.

Anthropic's valuation more than tripled from March 2025, when it was $61.5 billion. The latest Series F round was led by Iconiq Capital, with other notable investors including Fidelity, Lightspeed, Qatar Investment Authority, Blackstone, and Coatue.

Despite no specific public sources confirming which U.S. government institutions currently use Anthropic's services, as of August 2021, Anthropic was added to the U.S. government's approved vendor list in August.

Anthropic offers its services to public institutions for a symbolic dollar, a move that underscores its commitment to making AI technology accessible to all.

The company's revenue grew from $1 billion to over $5 billion in 2025, a testament to its rapid growth. Anthropic is now considered one of the major players in the global AI race, and its valuation of $183 billion makes it more valuable than SAP and Siemens in Germany.

In a statement during its European expansion, Anthropic differentiated itself from OpenAI and other AI developers in its emphasis on AI safety and ethical development. This focus is likely to continue as Anthropic continues to grow and expand its influence in the AI industry.
