AI integration for enhanced workforce solutions: Collaboration between Ricoh and Microsoft in development
Ricoh, the global technology company, is set to empower over a thousand employees across its Asia Pacific operations with practical AI capabilities through AI Learning Week, running from 18-22 August 2025. This internal initiative is co-sponsored by Microsoft and Talogy, a leading talent management solution provider.
In Hong Kong, Ricoh has launched the Ricoh InnoAI Programme, a partnership with Cyberport and the Ricoh Software Research Center Beijing, aiming to build a business-ready AI ecosystem in the region. Ricky Chong, Managing Director of Ricoh Hong Kong, stated that InnoAI aims to accelerate AI innovation for startups and enterprise partners.
Meanwhile, in New Zealand, Ricoh has solidified its position as a leader in enterprise AI adoption and Microsoft Copilot deployment. The company has implemented structured Copilot programmes across key business functions, including finance, marketing, customer operations, and digital services. Ricoh New Zealand's hands-on experience and Solutions Partner credentials position it as a strategic contributor to Ricoh's go-to-market model in the Asia Pacific region with Microsoft.
Ricoh's AI strategy is built around a three-tiered innovation framework supporting varying levels of customer AI maturity and business need. The framework includes Pre-Configured Solutions, Enablement and Advisory Services, and Advanced Applications. Pre-Configured Solutions include AI-enabled multifunction devices, intelligent document processing, and workflow automation. Enablement and Advisory Services help organizations adopt AI responsibly and effectively. Advanced Applications use AI agents, large language models, and vertical-specific solutions tailored to customer challenges.
The Copilot deployments in New Zealand are supported by comprehensive AI readiness assessments that help define business needs, identify adoption barriers, and prioritise use cases. The insights gained from these assessments feed into enablement frameworks and real-time feedback loops that drive continuous improvement, both internally and for Ricoh's customers.
Microsoft Hong Kong and Macau's Leo Liu expressed delight in collaborating with Ricoh for AI Learning Week, aiming to support Ricoh in harnessing the power of Microsoft Copilot and custom AI agents. The Ricoh InnoAI Programme in Hong Kong offers a purpose-built R&D centre, commercialisation pathways, and advanced infrastructure.
Ricoh's belief that empowering employees with AI fluency is key to delivering lasting value for customers is evident in its initiatives. The company's success in New Zealand serves as a testament to this approach, positioning Ricoh as a leader in enterprise AI adoption across the Asia Pacific region.
