AI startup Augment secures $85M funding to expand Augie, their AI-powered solution revolutionizing logistics operations.

San Francisco-based AI productivity platform for logistics, Augment, has announced the closure of an $85 million Series A round, bringing its total capital raised to $110 million. The round was led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from 8VC, Shopify Ventures, Autotech Ventures, and other investors.

The fresh funds will be utilized to expand Augment's engineering and go-to-market teams. Co-founder and CEO Harish Abbott plans to hire more than 50 engineers and over 10 go-to-market staff by the end of 2025.

Augment's flagship product, Augie, is designed to work across systems and communication channels, taking full ownership of a shipment from order to cash. The AI product has reportedly led to 30-50% productivity gains in logistics operations.

One of the key features of Augie is its ability to proactively handle exceptions and reduce the manual back-and-forth that weighs down logistics operations. This has resulted in a 40% reduction in invoice delays for some companies.

Brokers and 3PLs have reported being able to scale without adding headcount, with some representatives doubling or tripling the number of loads they manage daily. Similarly, CEO Cameron Ramsdell of Armstrong Transport Group, a $1.3 billion brokerage, states that reps have been able to manage more loads daily with the use of Augie, with some managing 20 or 30 loads.

Augment's future plans include building a logistics-native knowledge hub and investing heavily in integrations to ensure Augie can operate seamlessly across various systems in the freight industry.

Shippers are experiencing tighter SLA adherence and fewer billing disputes, while carriers are benefiting from faster payments, reduced service calls, and stronger driver relationships. Billing cycles for Augment's clients have been accelerated by three to eight days due to the implementation of Augie.

Augie integrates with TMS platforms, load boards, shipper portals, and communication channels. This integration has allowed it to streamline operations for companies like Armstrong Transport Group, where William McManus, an operations specialist, claims that Augie takes care of the work, allowing him to log off when he logs off.

Ramsdell also notes an improvement in employee morale and customer service with the use of Augie at Armstrong. Abbott predicts that within the next 12 to 18 months, AI agents will become the standard, handling the majority of repetitive workflows in logistics.

Despite the success of Augment and Augie, there are no search results specifically listing the companies that participated in the Series A financing round of the AI-based productivity platform. However, with the significant investment and plans for expansion, it is clear that Augment is set to make a significant impact in the logistics industry.
