The Ministry of the Interior in Saxony-Anhalt has announced a significant change in the reimbursement system for volunteer leaders in the civil protection department. More than 1,330 leaders are now eligible for corresponding reimbursements, according to the ministry.

This update includes the introduction of a compensation for the position of group leader in civil protection, a new addition to the reimbursement system. Volunteer leaders, including group leaders, can now receive a maximum monthly flat rate of 600 euros, retroactively increased from August 1.

The changes in reimbursements do not affect all volunteers but are specifically targeted at leaders and group leaders. Association leaders in Saxony-Anhalt can now receive up to 85 euros per month, while squad leaders have seen their monthly flat rates increased to up to 75 euros.

The flat rates for volunteer leaders have been increased by up to 25%, marking a substantial boost in financial support for those who lead and manage the civil protection units in Saxony-Anhalt.

This policy decision is part of a broader initiative by the Ministry of the Interior to recognise and reward the valuable contributions made by volunteer leaders in the civil protection department. The increased reimbursements for these leaders are retroactive to August 1, 20XX, as indicated by the retroactive date of the changes.

The changes in reimbursements for volunteer leaders in civil protection in Saxony-Anhalt are intended to provide these dedicated individuals with the financial support they deserve, enabling them to continue their vital work in maintaining the safety and security of the region.
