Akshay Kumar Praises Kalyani Priyadarshan in her debut film 'Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra'
In an exciting turn of events, Bollywood's action king Akshay Kumar and acclaimed director Priyadarshan have joined forces once again after a 15-year hiatus, this time for the superhero film "Lokah -- Chapter One: Chandra".
The film, produced under Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films, marks the directorial debut of Dominic Arun. It features a stellar cast, including Kalyani Priyadarshan as a female superhero, Sandy as the lead antagonist, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, and Arun Kurian in significant roles.
Akshay Kumar took to his official social media handle to express his excitement about the project, using the hashtag #Lokah. He also praised Kalyani Priyadarshan's performance and acknowledged her father, Priyadarshan, in his statement.
The Hindi version of "Lokah -- Chapter One: Chandra" is set to release in theatres on September 4. Dulquer Salmaan announced the release date, stating, "The world of Lokah -- Chapter One: Chandra, is expanding. Hindi version releases in theatres on September 4th!"
Many celebrities have shown their support for the film, with Ishaan Khatter, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sharvari leading the line of praise. Akshay Kumar also has Priyadarshan's upcoming film "Haiwaan" in the pipeline, co-starring Saif Ali Khan.
"Lokah -- Chapter One: Chandra" opened in theatres on August 28, 2025. This reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan is a highly anticipated event for fans, given their successful collaborations in the past, including "Hera Pheri," "Garam Masala," "Bhagam Bhag," and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa".
