Alberta authorities issue province-wide warrant for individual linked to 2019 firearm incident in Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta - A province-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Fahiye Ahmed, aged 38, in connection with a 2019 shooting that resulted in the death of Abdinasir Abdullahi Shire, aged 28.

The incident occurred outside an apartment building at 117 Street and 107 Avenue, around 7:20 a.m. on Dec. 25, 2019. Upon arrival, paramedics treated Shire at the scene, but he died shortly after. An autopsy later determined that Shire died from gunshot wounds, and his death was declared a homicide.

Homicide detectives have identified Fahiye Ahmed as a suspect in the shooting death of Abdinasir Abdullahi Shire. Initially, a nationwide warrant was issued for Abdullahi Jama in connection with the murder, but this was corrected to a province-wide warrant for Fahiye Ahmed.

No further details about the shooting incident were provided in the news release, and the release did not mention any other individuals involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information about any arrests or charges in relation to the shooting was available.
