In a captivating US Open final, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz secured his second Grand Slam title and returned to the world No. 1 ranking for the first time since September 2023. The Spanish sensation avenged his Wimbledon final loss to Jannik Sinner, defeating the Italian in four sets: 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

The match, their third Grand Slam encounter in just three months, began with Alcaraz starting strongly, displaying aggressive baseline play and some magical shots. Sinner, however, secured an early break in the second set and looked more confident, eventually winning the set 3-6.

The momentum shifted back and forth in the third and fourth sets, with both players showcasing their skills and determination. Alcaraz broke Sinner's resistance at 3-2 in the fourth set and sealed the victory, marking his second US Open title.

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center during the US Open 2023 caused a 49-minute delay for nearly 24,000 spectators entering due to heightened security checks. Trump watched the match from a box, wearing a red tie.

Sinner's defeat marks the first time in the Open Era of men's tennis that a pair faced each other in a Grand Slam final three times in such a short period. It also means that no man has defended the US Open title since Roger Federer in 2008.

Interestingly, Sinner had to retire due to health reasons in Cincinnati before facing Alcaraz. His loss in the US Open final means that Alcaraz becomes the youngest man to claim the world No. 1 ranking since 1968.

As a reward for his victory, Alcaraz receives a record prize money of five million US dollars for winning the US Open. This victory cements his status as one of the rising stars in men's tennis and sets the stage for an exciting future in the sport.
