Alert Issued over Imposters Posing as Law Enforcement Officials

In the city of Bielefeld, several residents have received fraudulent calls claiming to be from a police officer. The scammers, in a bid to deceive the victims, falsely claimed that a close relative of the victims had caused an accident resulting in another person's death. The scammers then demanded a large bail payment from the victims to prevent their relative from being jailed.

Fortunately, the recipients of these calls in Bielefeld quickly identified them as a scam and did not provide any information or transfer any money to the scammers.

If you suspect a call to be fraudulent, hang up and report it to the authorities immediately.
