Alexander M. may have met his end inside a concrete pipe
The small town of Weitefeld, located in the Westerwald district, was plunged into shock and anxiety earlier this year when a triple murder rocked the community. The victims were three local residents, and the crime remains one of the most talked-about cases in Germany.
The tragic events unfolded in April, with the discovery of the crime scene in a swampy area. However, it wasn't until August that the body of a suspected perpetrator, 61-year-old Alexander M., was found near a stream.
Initially, the police searched the area after the crime but found no signs of the perpetrator. It wasn't until months later, when heavy rain washed away debris, that Alexander M.'s body was discovered. The exact circumstances of his death remain uncertain due to the strong decomposition of his body.
Reports suggest that Alexander M. may have hidden in a 60-centimeter-wide pipe, which was found nearby. The police have also reported that the suspect had injuries, but the motive for the murder and many other questions surrounding the case remain unanswered.
The discovery of Alexander M.'s body brought some relief to the town, but the anxiety lingered. Residents were uneasy going for walks and were cautious about letting their children out.
Investigations into the triple murder are ongoing, and the new investigation results suggest that Alexander M. did not die where his body was found, but in a pipe on the Elbbach. However, it's important to note that Alexander M. has not been officially confirmed as the perpetrator of the triple murder.
Investigations against deceased suspects are expected to be discontinued promptly. As the case continues to unfold, the people of Weitefeld hope for closure and a return to a sense of safety and normalcy in their community.
