Allegations Surface Regarding Suhana Khan Potentially Breaching Land Regulations in Alibaug, Prompting a Detailed Investigation
In the picturesque village of Thal, located in the district of Alibaug, Maharashtra, a land purchase has become the centre of public conversations. The land, originally allocated by the government for farming, has been at the heart of a controversy involving Suhana Khan, daughter of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
The land, worth Rs. 12.91 crore, was registered under Deja Vu Farm Pvt Ltd., a company with ties to the Khan family. According to reports, Suhana Khan bought the agricultural land from three sisters, Anjali, Rekha, and Priya.
Legal experts and local lawyers have emphasised that agricultural land rules apply equally to everyone, regardless of status. However, the applicant's name who requested the authorities' approval for the sale of agricultural land in Thal village remains unavailable to the public.
Officials are currently reviewing whether the purchase followed Maharashtra's land rules, and whether the proper permissions were taken. The Resident Deputy Collector, Sandesh Shirke, has asked the Alibaug Tehsildar to submit a fair report on the legality of the transaction.
The outcome of the report will determine whether Suhana Khan will retain ownership of the property or face further action. This is not the first time the Khan family has faced scrutiny over Alibaug properties, as the income tax department had attached one of the family's farmhouses over alleged misuse of land meant for farming in 2018.
The case has raised questions about whether celebrities get special treatment when dealing with land in Maharashtra. Suhana Khan, who made her acting debut in "The Archies," is preparing for her Bollywood debut in the film "King" alongside her father.
The land case involving Suhana Khan's purchase in Alibaug continues to develop, with the authorities' report expected to shed light on the legality of the transaction. The case has become a significant topic of discussion, highlighting the importance of adhering to land ownership laws and the transparency of its dealings.
