Alteration in Traffic Flow in the Core of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Area
In a bid to improve transportation and roads in the city, the Administration of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has announced changes to traffic on Lenin Street, starting from March 14. The changes are part of a broader effort, spearheaded by Mayor Pavel Donskoy, to manage traffic and ensure safety in the city.
From the House of the Fleet Officers to the intersection with Soviet Street, Lenin Street will see alterations in traffic flow. The new scheme will organise traffic towards Shedrin Square in the parking zone, while the remaining width of the roadway will be used for two-lane traffic. Conversely, traffic towards Soviet Street will remain unchanged.
The changes aim to reduce road congestion and distribute traffic flows more effectively. They are also intended to help manage the traffic load on Petropavlovsk Highway, Ocean Avenue, Sapun-Gora, Red Hill, and other key city thoroughfares.
Parking restrictions will be imposed along the administration building of the city district and houses No. 8-10 on Lenin Street. Additional road signs will be installed for safety and traffic organisation. Compliance with the new traffic rules is requested from drivers, who are urged to familiarise themselves with the changes in advance.
The changes are in effect until the completion of work on the federal highway "Marine Port - Airport". It is important to note that these changes are not expected to affect traffic on Lenin Street towards Soviet Street.
The city administration hopes these changes will contribute to more comfortable travel in the city during the work on the federal highway. They are committed to ensuring the safety and smooth flow of traffic for all residents and visitors of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
