American Airlines Makes History With First OKC-Cancun Flight
American Airlines is set to make history with the first international route from Oklahoma City's Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) to Cancun (CUN), commencing November 8, 2025. This move is part of a broader expansion by major U.S. carriers, offering more direct flights to the popular Mexican destination.
Delta Air Lines is leading the charge with four new nonstop routes to Cancun. Starting December 20, 2025, travellers from Austin (AUS), Nashville (BNA), Indianapolis (IND), and Kansas City (MCI) will have seamless access to the sunny beaches of Cancun. Meanwhile, Aer Lingus is set to pioneer a direct path from Dublin to Cancun, launching on January 6, 2026. This expansion comes as part of a larger trend of airlines expanding their international offerings.
The addition of these new routes, including American Airlines' first international flight from OKC, Delta's four new routes, and Aer Lingus' direct Dublin-Cancun service, provides travellers with more convenient and direct options for their getaways to Cancun.
