An Exquisite Evening at El Brellin Restaurant
El Brellin, a charming Italian restaurant nestled in Vicolo dei Lavandai, Milan, offers a romantic and intimate dining experience that is hard to forget. The establishment, once an old grocery store, has been tastefully transformed into a cosy, upscale eatery with decorative nods to its historical past, including a 1700s fireplace and coffered ceilings.
Upon arrival, the kind and attentive staff welcomed us and even provided blankets when the wind picked up, adding to the cosy ambience. For our appetiser, we opted for a selection of cold cuts and cheese flan, while Dann also ordered a venison sausage dish. The cheese flan was a cheesy, slightly dense cake, topped with a cheese cracker crumble and a creamy sauce, while the venison sausage was perfectly seasoned and delicious.
For the main course, I indulged in the pumpkin raviolis, which were swimming in a light, creamy sauce. The pumpkin flavour was overpowering but delightful, with dollops of pumpkin around the raviolis. Dann, on the other hand, opted for a steak served in a savory gravy, accompanied by pea puree and pickled cabbage. The steak was large and tender, making for a satisfying meal.
El Brellin prides itself on its upscale Italian cuisine, and it certainly did not disappoint. If you're seeking a romantic, candlelit dinner by the water, El Brellin is a lovely place to eat. The restaurant review website also offers additional reviews for those interested in further information.
Whether you're a local or a tourist, El Brellin is a must-visit for any food lover. The combination of delicious food, a cosy atmosphere, and attentive service make it an unforgettable dining experience.
