Anhausen declared as the district champion in the general category of the village contest
The district competition for the state initiative 'Our Village Has a Future' 2024, which took place in the Neuwied District, has come to a close. The competition, aimed at showcasing municipalities and their initiatives that actively work on the future, saw participation from numerous villages, including Anhausen and Oberraden.
The inspections of the district jury took place on September 9th, 10th, and 11th. The jury considered several focus areas during the evaluations, including development concepts, economic initiatives, civic engagement, social and cultural activities, architectural design, and greenery/landscape design.
District Administrator Achim Hallerbach emphasized the importance of civic engagement and club work in the competition. He congratulated the community in the Vorderwesterwald region on its performance and commended them for their efforts towards a sustainable and vibrant future.
In a significant development, Anhausen won the overall category in the district competition of the state competition 'Our Village Has a Future.' The municipality of Oberraden, on the other hand, secured the second place, ensuring both communities' qualification for participation in the next higher regional competition in spring 2025.
The competition also honoured the municipality of Leutesdorf with a special prize for its outstanding biotope management, and Dattenberg for its exemplary club life.
The district competition emphasizes the importance of civic engagement and club work in making a village future-proof and cohesive. It aims to raise awareness of current challenges such as demographic development, inner development for the preservation of lively and future-proof places, and sustainable energy supply.
'Our Village Has a Future' is a part of a broader initiative to address the challenges faced by villages and promote their development. The competition serves as a platform to recognize and appreciate the efforts of municipalities and their communities towards a sustainable and vibrant future.
The 1st Deputy District Administrator of the Neuwied District is Philipp Rasbach. The competition, named 'Our Village Has a Future 2024,' aims to highlight and recognize municipalities, committed village communities, and exemplary initiatives that work on the future.
