Annual Survey by Counselor® Reveals Increased Employee Morale at Leading Industry Companies
Advertising Specialty Institute Announces Higher Employee Morale in Industry Firms
The Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, has announced higher employee morale at industry firms according to Counselor magazine's second annual Best Places to Work survey.
ASI, with a membership of over 26,000 distributor firms and supplier firms, is at the forefront of this positive trend. The survey evaluates companies in 10 different areas, including "team effectiveness" and "trust in senior leaders."
Distributor firms use ASI's resources to locate supplier firms and market services to buyers. ASI offers a wide range of resources, including catalogs, information directories, newsletters, magazines, websites, and databases, as well as e-commerce, marketing, and selling tools.
The Best Places to Work list expanded from 50 top companies to 60 this year due to high marks given by employees. Companies that score well in the survey are taking the time to think about motivation and ways to keep employee morale up.
Some companies are implementing innovative strategies to motivate employees and maintain high morale. These strategies include offering generous 401(k) packages and benefit plans, and creating engaging programs. One company has a "fun time committee" that organizes unique corporate outings like golf contests, themed luncheons, local concerts, and picnics. Another company hosts a big Halloween party where every employee dresses up in costumes.
The final rankings of the top companies, including the number-one firm, will be announced in the September issue of Counselor. Quantum Market Research, Inc. conducts the Best Places to Work survey for the advertising specialty industry. Companies that advertise in the Best Places to Work issue will receive a detailed report with survey results for their firm.
Counselor will reveal the ideas leading industry employers are using to increase staff retention, satisfaction, productivity, creativity, and sales performance in the September 2009 issue. Despite staff reductions at many firms during challenging economic times, employee morale remains high.
