Anticipating a Monumental Weekend Ahead

Prepare for an exciting weekend in Filderstadt as the town celebrates its 50th anniversary with a town festival called "Growing together. Celebrating together." (1, 13) The festival, which takes place from September 12 to 14, promises a lively atmosphere, local charm, and a variety of events.

On Saturday, the festival grounds and the riding hall on Seestraße in Sielmingen will be the location of the main event. (7) Here, local bands Halbe He, Red Fox, and Flippmanns will play in the tent in the evening. (1) Elsewhere, Lousiana Avenue will perform at Bühne Schloss, Black Market III at Bühne Stechbahn, Drum’n’Bass from Stunnah at Bühne Markt, and Just Friends performing acoustically in front of the castle. (2) Throughout the day, Stimmwerk, Tonart, Sputnix, Backroom, School Tail, and Ruftop will also perform at Bühne Schloss. (2) In the evening, Just Friends and Lousiana Avenue are highlighted for their performances.

On Saturday, there will also be a children's flea market, a play street, and a keg tapping ceremony by the mayor. (8) Additionally, on Friday, a senior's afternoon and a 90s party with Fun Factory, Captain Jack, and Rednex are scheduled. (11)

The Women's Cycling Grand Prix will be another significant event taking place in Filderstadt on Sunday, September 14. (6, 12) The race will start at the Filderstadt Filharmonie and is expected to attract around 120 professional cyclists. (12) Several road closures will occur due to the race, including Tal, Dombasler, La Souterrainer, Poltawastraße streets around the Filharmonie from 9 am to 1 pm. (3) There will also be brief restrictions on the Reutlinger, Bahnhofstraße, Industriestraße, Mercedesstraße, and Bernhäuser Straße. (14) During the starting phase (approximately 12 to 12:35 pm), Tübinger Straße, Straße Am Fleinsbach, Felsenstraße, Mühlwiesenstraße, and Seestraße will also be closed. (15)

Bus 817 will be briefly affected and unable to serve the festival grounds around midday due to the Women's Cycling Grand Prix. (16) The city will be using Pitagones, mobile vehicle barriers, at the festival for the first time. (17) The cyclists will ride past the festival grounds in a controlled pace before the actual race begins in Sielmingen.

On Sunday, there will also be church services, the "Blue Light Mile" of various institutions, music associations performances, and a "Stadtradeln" prize-giving ceremony. (9) Additional parking for the town festival will be available at the Volksbank in Sielmingen, the two gymnasiums, or the P2 of the Filarmonie. (5)
