Anticipation for Participants from Germany at the Euregio Bike 4-Day Event

The Euregio Bike-4-Days cycling event is set to return from August 12 to 15, 2025, with a special programme dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Franciscan Sisters of Denekamp. The organisers, Roy Fox and Ad Kamphuis, presented the concept of the multi-day event at a meeting held in Nordhorn, Germany.

The event centre for Euregio Bike-4-Days will be at Wubbenhof in Denekamp. Each day of the event offers signposted bike tours over 25, 40, 60, and 100 kilometers, providing cycling enthusiasts with a variety of options.

In an effort to strengthen cross-border cooperation, the organisers have selected the cities of Aachen, Stolberg, and Eschweiler for the 2025 event. The organisers also discussed possible forms of cooperation during the meeting, with a focus on potential cross-border cooperation between Euregio Bike-4-Days and the climate protection action "Stadtradeln."

Nordhorn's Mayor, Thomas Berling, hosted a press event to discuss these possibilities. Both Berling and Burkhard Werner from ADFC emphasised the opportunities for a closer cooperation between the events.

One of the highlights of the upcoming edition is a cycling route from Thuine to Denekamp, which is part of the Euregio Bike-4-Days event. The nuns will cycle back to Denekamp with the cyclists along the same route that the founders probably took 150 years ago. The 100-kilometer route on Friday includes a stop at the monastery in Thuine, where the participants will be received by the sisters.

The organisers develop new tours each year for variety, ensuring that the event remains fresh and exciting for participants. The Euregio Bike-4-Days event has a long-standing tradition and is being presented to the city of Nordhorn, the ADFC Grafschaft Bentheim, and the Order of Franciscan Sisters.

Mayor Thomas Berling, representatives of the General German Cycling Club (ADFC), and the Franciscan Sisters were all present at the meeting, demonstrating the wide-ranging support for the event. As the date approaches, cycling enthusiasts from Germany and beyond are encouraged to mark their calendars for this exciting event.
