Apartment Fire: Kitchen Inferno Erupts on Fifth Floor of a Multi-unit Dwelling in FW Hannover
In an unexpected turn of events, a kitchen fire erupted in a multi-family dwelling in the Sahlkamp district of Hannover on Thursday afternoon at around 15:30.
The fire department was promptly alerted to the incident through an emergency call to the Hannover Regional Control Center. Thirteen fire trucks and a total of 30 firefighters and rescue service personnel were quickly deployed to the scene, which was located on Haegewiesen Street, on the 5th floor of the building.
Upon arrival, an emergency team was immediately dispatched to search the apartment and extinguish the fire. A fire department fan was used to clear the apartment of smoke, and fortunately, no persons were injured during the incident.
Smoke alarms had also been triggered in the affected apartment, alerting the residents and the authorities in time. The apartment, however, is currently uninhabitable due to the fire. The other units in the multi-family dwelling were not affected by the fire.
The exact cause of the fire in the Sahlkamp district is currently unknown. The Hannover Fire Department remained at the scene until approximately 16:30, and additional police personnel were also present.
