"Arkady clarifies: I'm not a sheikh, despite popular belief."
In a bizarre turn of events at the recent "Antares" film festival, Russian ballet dancer and television personality Anastasia Volochkova caused a stir when she appeared on the red carpet with a man named Arkaidi Maiyan, whom she introduced as Sheikh Arkadi.
However, it turns out that the man in question, Arkaidi Maiyan, is actually a Russian film producer and director, not a Sheikh as many had assumed. He had been invited by Anastasia Volochkova to join her on the red carpet and go to the press, but interestingly, he arrived in a Sheikh costume.
KP.RU, a Russian news outlet, later uncovered the truth behind the confusion. Arkaidi Maiyan, who was initially hidden under white clothes, was not a Sheikh, but merely a film producer and director.
In an interview with KP.RU, Arkaidi Maiyan clarified that he was unaware he would become the centre of such a strange play. He stated that he had no intention of misleading anyone and that he was simply following Anastasia Volochkova's invitation.
Anastasia Volochkova, in a subsequent announcement, admitted that her initial statement about her wedding with Sheikh Arkadi (actually Arkaidi Maiyan) was based on a misunderstanding. She clarified that she had been joking and that there were no plans for a wedding at this time.
Moreover, she also revealed that the idea of Sheikh Arkadi (Arkaidi Maiyan) wanting to kidnap her and take her to the Emirates on a private plane was also a joke.
Despite the initial confusion, it appears that the incident at the "Antares" film festival was merely a misunderstanding. Both Anastasia Volochkova and Arkaidi Maiyan have clarified their positions, and the matter seems to have been resolved.
