In occupied East Jerusalem, a tragic shooting attack occurred at the Ramot Junction on Monday morning, claiming at least five lives and leaving fifteen others wounded.

The attack took place at the northern entrance of the city, sending shockwaves throughout the region. Roads leading to the area were immediately closed, and all entry points into Jerusalem were temporarily shut down following the incident.

Israeli authorities raised the security alert across Jerusalem in response to the attack. Reinforcements were swiftly deployed to maintain order and ensure the safety of the public.

According to reports, the attackers used a makeshift "Carlo" submachine gun, modeled after the Swedish Carl Gustav design. The perpetrators were later identified as two Palestinians from villages near Ramallah. Both opened fire at a crowded bus stop, prompting an immediate response from an off-duty soldier and an armed civilian who shot the attackers dead at the scene.

Five of the wounded from the shooting attack are currently in critical condition, with the remaining victims receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Al Jazeera reported the story from Amman, Jordan, due to being banned from operating in both Israel and the occupied West Bank. Israel's Channel 12 also covered the incident, providing updates as more information became available.

This latest attack serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing tension and violence in the region. As the investigation continues, the international community calls for peace and an end to the cycle of violence that has plagued the region for far too long.
