Armed impostors posing as police officers perpetrate a heist on a 37-year-old motorist along Highway 4.

In an unsettling incident, a British-registered motorhome was robbed on the A4 near Klettenberg, close to Cologne, on Thursday evening.

The robbery took place around 9 PM, with the motorhome's driver traveling towards Heerlen. A parallel black car, equipped with blue LEDs, was involved in the incident. A passenger in this car directed the motorhome's driver onto the hard shoulder using hand signals.

The robbery was perpetrated by a man, approximately 40 years old, 1.75 meters tall, slim, black, wearing a dark cap and a vest with "Police" printed on it. However, it is important to note that this man was not a police officer.

During the incident, this man presented a "police ID" and conducted a "check" on the motorhome. During this check, he took a bag from the motorhome and stole a Rolex watch and cash.

The suspects fled towards the Cologne-West interchange after the robbery. Witnesses with information about the suspects or the damaged black car are asked to contact Kriminalkommissariat 74.

Contact information for Kriminalkommissariat 74 is provided: 0221 229-0 and email address [email protected].

It is worth noting that the driver's father attempted to prevent the suspects from leaving by lightly colliding with their vehicle. Regrettably, the identities of the two perpetrators have not been publicly identified as of now.

The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in their investigation. The public's cooperation is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of our roads.
