Armed robbery unfolds live on air at location XY within a supermarket.
On July 20, 2023, an unknown suspect held up a supermarket on Schloßstraße, Essen. The suspect, who is approximately 50 years old, has still not been identified.
The suspect entered the supermarket around 7:00 AM, claiming he needed to use the toilet. He then threatened an employee with a revolver and demanded cash from the supermarket's safe. The suspect made off with several thousand euros in cash, and fled the scene on a black-and-white men's bicycle towards Donnerbergstraße.
The suspect is about 175 cm tall and has an average build. He has gray hair and a western European appearance. During the crime, the suspect wore a gray pullover, dark gray jeans, a dark cap, and work shoes. The suspect also has a scar in the right neck area and uses an electronic speech aid in the middle of his neck.

Investigators are still seeking information about the suspect's identity. An immediate manhunt for the suspect proved unsuccessful. The case will be presented on "Aktenzeichen XY" on ARD tomorrow at 8:15 PM, hoping for a crucial tip-off.
