Armed Threat Toward Law Enforcement Officer
In Gesundbrunnen last night, a 35-year-old man was arrested following a disturbance at Hansastraße. The incident led to a police investigation, which has since been taken over by a special unit of the Police Presidium 1 and the department responsible for politically motivated crime (PMK) at the Berlin State Criminal Police Office (Landeskriminalamt Berlin), specifically LKA 5.
Upon entering the man's apartment, officers found him holding an imitation firearm. The man is alleged to have threatened a police officer with the weapon. During the subsequent search of the apartment, four imitation firearms, ammunition, accessories, a switchblade, and pyrotechnic devices were initially discovered.
The man, who was under the influence of alcohol, was playing loud music, shouting, and throwing objects around for hours. Further search of the apartment uncovered additional imitation firearms, ammunition, accessories, a switchblade, and pyrotechnic devices.
No real firearms were found in the man's apartment. The police seized the imitation firearms, their magazines, and ammunition as evidence. The officers also found pyrotechnic devices in the man's apartment.
The police are now investigating the source of the imitation firearms and other items found in the man's apartment. The man's apartment has been secured and is currently under police custody. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
The police were initially called to the scene due to the disturbance caused by the man. The man's arrest and the seizure of the imitation firearms, switchblade, pyrotechnic devices, ammunition, and accessories serve as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with such items, especially when used inappropriately or under the influence of alcohol.
