Arrest Announcement: Collaborative Statement from Heilbronn Prosecutor's Office and Heilbronn Police Headquarters Regarding Auto Theft Investigation

In the quiet town of Bad Rappenau-Bonfeld, a 40-year-old Polish national is suspected of committing a daring theft. On the night of February 26th to 27th, 2025, the suspect allegedly stole an Audi Q5 parked in Nußäckerstraße.

The stolen vehicle, registered in Heilbronn, was found to have its keys still in the owner's house. It is believed that the KeylessGo signal of the vehicle key was intercepted to start and remove the car from the scene.

The Heilbronn Public Prosecutor's Office executed an arrest warrant for the aggravated theft, and the suspect was presented to a judge at the Heilbronn District Court on Friday. The arrest warrant was requested by the same office.

The suspect was apprehended by Kriminalinspektion 2 of the Heilbronn Criminal Police Directorate, but the name of the head of the department who arrested the suspect remains undisclosed.

During a subsequent search of the Audi, Polish license plates were found, registered to an identical vehicle. The Bavarian police were informed about these findings, and the stolen Audi was stopped by a civilian patrol car from the Bayreuth Traffic Police Inspectorate at the Hof/Topen exit in Bavaria.

Upon checking the registered address, the vehicle owner was surprised to find his Audi missing. The suspect admitted to the journey during a police interrogation. Following the court appearance, the suspect was taken to a detention facility.
