Arrest made at the site of a copper theft incident

On Sunday, June 8th, a copper thief was apprehended during a patrol at the former Heinrich Robert mine site in Hamm-Herringen.

According to reports, the 39-year-old suspect, a local resident of Hamm, fled when he saw the patrol car around 11 am. The officers, however, didn't lose sight of the suspect and conducted a thorough search of the area. The suspect was eventually found hiding in the grass.

The suspect was taken into custody and the stolen copper cables and tools, which were prepared for transport, were seized. However, the direction of the suspect's escape remains unknown.
