Arrest of a suspect in Mexico over allegations linked to the fatal incident of a woman from Colorado
In a shocking turn of events, Rutgers University basketball player Adrian Carracedo-Vega, 35, has been accused of first-degree murder in the death of Sachely Diaz, 20, which occurred on Dec. 30, 2023.
The alleged crime took place outside the Tuscan Heights Apartments, located at 1700 W. 85th Ave., in Federal Heights, Colorado. Police believe Carracedo-Vega knew Diaz. The victim died in a hospital after the crime.
Carracedo-Vega was arrested in Mexico and later apprehended by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. He is currently in custody and is set to be extradited to Colorado.
Prior to this incident, Carracedo-Vega was reportedly arrested in Mexico for attacking a strip club worker, although there is no information available in relation to Diaz's death in Federal Heights.
It's worth noting that this incident occurred in Mt. Vernon, Colorado, a small town in the western part of the state.
In an unrelated incident, an American citizen was also arrested in La Condesa, Mexico, for attacking pedestrians.
Meanwhile, a convicted ex-governor from Quintana Roo has made headlines for marrying a Sinaloa beauty queen. This news serves as a stark contrast to the tragic events surrounding Carracedo-Vega's case.
