Arrested Following Two Incidents of Shoplifting (Political Arrest)
On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, a shoplifter was apprehended in a drugstore located on Hohenzollernstraße in Hagen-Mitte. The Hagen Police Department confirmed this information through news aktuell.
According to the police report, the 42-year-old man was caught hiding perfume worth over 500 euros in his jacket. Upon further investigation, officers found stolen goods from a local clothing store in the man's backpack, including a tracksuit worth over 100 euros.
The man admitted to the theft when confronted by the responding patrol officers. He was temporarily detained and two criminal charges for theft were filed against him.
The incident came to light when the man was confronted by an employee after passing the exit and alerted the police.
