Arrested Individual for Operating an Escaped Scooter
In the early hours of Wednesday, May 20, an unexpected incident unfolded in the city of Bremerhaven. At around 4 a.m., an 11-year-old moped rider and his 13-year-old passenger led police on a chase through the city's streets.
The chase began when police on patrol in Bremerhaven-Lehe noticed a moped with two occupants not wearing helmets. Ignoring the officers' signals, the moped rider sped off, prompting a pursuit that took them through various side streets, the pedestrian zone, and towards the city's south.
The moped rider and his passenger were eventually apprehended near the Klimahaus with the help of additional units. The Schifffahrtsmuseum was passed by the duo during their escape.
Following the incident, the children were handed over to their guardians. The parents of the children were sternly admonished.
The Bremerhaven Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the boys' late-night joyride. No further details about the moped rider or his passenger have been released.
